Respecting Intellectual Property and Driving Innovation-Driven Growth Gendone Unveils Latest Breakthroughs in Guanidinoacetic acid at Yihe Forum, Launching an Industry-Wide Initiative on Intellectual Property Protection

When copycats reap where they have not sown, and counterfeiters brazenly parade their fakes, who would still be willing to be the original researcher, spending years of making effort and investing huge sums of money? When inferior counterfeit products flood the market under the banner of "the same as the original," who will pay for the real interests of users?

To promote intellectual property in truly playing its role as an incentive and safeguard, on April 16, at the Yihe Forum held in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, Gendone — as the original developer in the field of guanidinoacetic acid (GAA) — joined forces with the Yihe Forum to specially invite the following distinguished guests to jointly hold a press conference themed "Respecting Intellectual Property and Driving Innovation-Driven Growth" : Academician Qiao Shiyan of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Professor Qin Yuchang, Vice President and Secretary General of the China Feed Industry Association; Ms. Wang Xiuyan, former Executive Deputy Secretary General of the China Animal Agriculture Association and Honorary President of the Beijing Feed Industry Association; Professor Wu Shugeng from the Feed Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences; Mr. Hu Hong, Senior Partner of Beijing Dacheng Law Firm. The press conference was convened to advocate for the protection of IP and to underscore the importance of respecting original innovation in the industry.

At the conference, Gendone announced the latest progress in fundamental research on guanidinoacetic acid (GAA).

Release of Net Energy Data for Guanidinoacetic acid

Through in-depth collaboration with the Feed Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the Jilin Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Gendone has taken the lead in the industry to determine the net energy values of guanidinoacetic acid (GAA) in poultry.

As a specially invited guest, Dr. Wu Shugeng, Chief Researcher of the Poultry Nutrition and Feed Innovation Team at the Feed Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, delivered a presentation titled "Application of Guanidinoacetic acid in Poultry Production."

In his presentation, Dr. Wu provided a rigorous and thorough elaboration on the application value of guanidinoacetic acid in poultry, and announced the newly determined net energy values of guanidinoacetic acid for meat-type poultry.

Zhongguancun Association Standard Feed Additive — Guanidinoacetic acid (Standard No. T/ZSA 332-2026)

The Zhongguancun Association Standard Feed Additive — Guanidinoacetic acid (Standard No. T/ZSA 332-2026), led by Gendone, was approved and issued by the Zhongguancun Standardization Association (ZSA), and has been publicly filed and made available on the National Group Standard Information Platform.

MARA Announcement No. 982
Feed Additive — Coated Guanidinoacetic acid

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) approved the application of coated guanidinoacetic acid (GAA) in fattening beef cattle as submitted by Gendone. This technological breakthrough has filled a gap in relevant fields both domestically and internationally.
However, the value realization of innovative achievements is being severely undermined by infringing practices.
From laboratory research to industrial application, guanidinoacetic acid has embodied nearly two decades of sustained investment and technical endeavor by Academician and the Gendone team. Nevertheless, imitators, without authorization, have been producing and selling the product, disrupting the market with substandard, low-quality offerings. Such acts not only constitute intellectual property (IP) infringement but also expose users, unknowingly, to counterfeit products with insufficient purity, excessive impurities, and performance far inferior to the original — posing significant risks to industry users. This is not market competition; this is an infringement on user interests.

Under the dual impetus of national policy support and rigorous judicial rectification, Gendone's intellectual property rights have received fair rulings and solid protection from the courts. At the press conference, Dr. Yang Libin, Chairman of the company, made a solemn announcement regarding the court judgments in the intellectual property rights enforcement cases.
In 2025, the courts successively ruled that the infringing companies — Hebei/Yichang Pan [Certain] Technology Co., Ltd., Anhui Wanhe [Certain] Bio Technology Co., Ltd., Qinghai/Shandong Yu [Certain] Bio Technology Co., Ltd., and Hebei Guang [Certain] Biological Products/Animal Husbandry Co., Ltd. — pay economic compensation of RMB 1 million, RMB 400,000, RMB 800,000, and RMB 5 million, respectively. These judgments draw an insurmountable red line for innovative development and send a clear and strong signal to the entire industry: intellectual property rights are inviolable, and violators will pay a heavy price.

The value of innovation is embodied not only in research and development  breakthroughs but also, and more importantly, in law-based protection and long-term safeguarding mechanisms. Intellectual property rights enforcement is precisely the critical link in protecting innovation outcomes and regulating industry order. At the press conference, Mr. Hu Hong, Senior Partner of Beijing Dacheng Law Firm, shared typical cases of Gendone's IP rights enforcement, articulating from a professional perspective how laws and regulations support innovative development, and leveraging professional expertise to erect an unshakeable legal bulwark for innovation outcomes.

Innovation is hard, but sustaining it is even harder. At the press conference, Academician Qiao Shiyan of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Mr. Qin Yuchang, Vice President and Secretary General of the China Feed Industry Association, Ms. Wang Xiuyan, former Executive Deputy Secretary General of the China Animal Agriculture Association and Honorary President of the Beijing Feed Industry Association, Professor Wu Shugeng, Dr. Yang Libin, Chairman of Gendone, and Mr. Hu Hong, Senior Partner of Beijing Dacheng Law Firm, jointly launched the initiative ceremony titled "Respecting Intellectual Property and Driving Innovation-Driven Growth." From the perspectives of scientific research, policy orientation, industrial innovation, and legal practice, they conveyed a clear stance and industry consensus: zero tolerance for IP infringements and a joint commitment to safeguarding the innovation ecosystem.

Following the ceremony, Academician Qiao Shiyan, Secretary General Qin Yuchang, and Secretary General Wang Xiuyan each delivered remarks, reaffirming their firm stance on intellectual property protection. Lending their authoritative weight to the cause of innovation, they sent a powerful message to the entire industry on preserving a healthy innovation ecosystem.

The law has no tolerance stance towards unlawful infringing activities. Any attempt to profit by stealing others' achievements constitutes a flagrant trampling of the rules of innovation and a serious disruption of market order. Infringers not only deprive original innovators of their deserved returns, but also push products of uncertain quality and questionable efficacy onto users, exposing them to risks without their knowledge. Such misconduct is legally unjustifiable, morally indefensible, and detrimental to the industry as a whole. Only by respecting the law and honoring innovation can one secure long-term development.
